VIC:Two charged in scissors attack
MELBOURNE, Aug 28 AAP - Two people are facing armed robbery charges after a shopper
was stabbed with scissors during a bag-snatching attempt.
A woman was walking to her car at the Braybrook Shopping Centre in Melbourne's west
when she was approached by a young woman who pulled out a pair of scissors.
The young woman stabbed the shopper and tried to grab her handbag, police said.
When the shopper fought back, a man joined the attack and allegedly assaulted her while
trying to loosen her grip on the bag.
The pair eventually gave up and sped away in a nearby vehicle empty-handed.
Police arrested two people hours later.
A 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of St Albans, have been charged with
attempted armed robbery, intentionally causing serious injury and various assault-related
offences.
They will appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court next week.
