Fed: Kalejs could be called before Senate inquiry Democrats

CANBERRA, Jan 11 AAP - Alleged Nazi war criminal Konrad Kalejs could be called before
a Senate committee to test claims he had a letter from the prime minister acknowledging
a lack of evidence against him.

The move came as police said they would reassess material gathered in the case against Kalejs.

But war crimes expert Professor Konrad Kwiet said a photograph of Kalejs in a Nazi
SS uniform and his admission that he was once a Arajs Kommando leader provided no new
evidence.
